Nigerian Journal of Plastic Surgeons was born about 10 (2006) years ago under the leadership of Prof. O. M. Oluwatosin, who served as the founding editor of the journal. Since then, the journal has grown and has continued to serve as a source of information and education to our members of the Nigerian Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and Nigerian Burn Injury Society as well as many other scholars worldwide.

Prof. O. M. Oluwatosin has trained a number of us to continue the good work. Although his shoes are very large to enter, the fact that he is strongly and actively still behind the scene gives us the courage to move forward.

The current edition of this journal contains one review article which discusses the current trends in the management of Achilles tendon injuries. There are three original articles and four case reports. I believe these articles will enrich you greatly. Only two of the articles are from our colleagues in Nigeria. This shows the fact that our journal has indeed become more visible internationally, and members have to work harder to ensure that their works are published in the journal.

Thanks to the editorial team for your hard work in making this edition possible. Thank you all and enjoy the edition while we look forward to receiving manuscripts from you.
